Scholarships for Outbound Exchange Students

FCE Outbound Exchange Scholarship

On top of the University’s financial assistance, the Faculty provides Outbound Exchange Scholarship (OES) to students currently enrolled in its Bachelor’s level programmes to support them in outbound exchange programmes.

Each FCE OES ranges from HK$ 1,000 to HK$ 7,000 depending on the destination.

Eligibility

To be eligible, students must meet all of the following conditions:

• non-first-year students being enrolled in any of our full-time undergraduate (Bachelor’s level) UGC-funded programmes;
• the minimum cumulative GPA is preferably 3.0 or above (unless special approval from the Faculty has been granted);
• the exchange period is at least one semester long (semester refers to the study period in the exchange institution concerned); 
• the exchange programme is organised by Global Engagement Office, Mainland Development Office, FCE or the home department; 
• students should not have been the subject of any disciplinary action at any time whilst studying in the programme concerned; and
• each student can only be offered the FCE OES once* during his/her undergraduate study.
  
  *The acceptance of funding support or exchange sponsorship from other PolyU units does not automatically disqualify a student from receiving the FCE OES. However, this factor will be considered in the decision-making process. Information on other financial support received by the student should be provided for approval, if necessary. Students can still apply for the outbound exchange sponsorship and hardship fund from the University.

Application and Selection Procedures

Interested students should submit the application form and the other required information to their home departments. The application form can be downloaded from the Faculty Student Intranet: https://www2.polyu.edu.hk/fce/student-internal/intranet/

Selection of Awardees

Awardees will be selected by their home departments based on their academic records and the interview performance if an interview is held. Higher priority will be given to students who join year-long student exchanges.

The above information will be reviewed regularly without prior notice. FCE reserves the right to change or withdraw the scholarship at any time. In the event of any dispute/disagreement, FCE’s decision shall be final.
