Industrial and Systems Engineering graduates won the 2nd runner up in the Industrial System Engineering Management Innovation Project Competition 2020
Mr Wing Hong Lee and Mr Wenqiang Li, graduates from the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering won the 2nd runner up in the Industrial System Engineering Management Innovation Project Competition 2020, which was jointly hosted by the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE), and the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. IISE is the world's largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity. Their project title is "Development of Augmented Reality Application with AI Object Recognition and IoT Connection for Warehouses" under the supervision of Dr YM Tang. In this project, they proposed an innovative approach for integrating the latest AR and AI technologies for supporting warehouse workers to identify objects using a Mixed Reality (MR) headset. The approach not only enhances the efficiency but also improves the accuracy of picking up correct items in the warehouses.
