Discursive constructions of ethical business leadership: A corpus-assisted discourse study. The Forum on Ecolinguistics and Area Studies cum The 9th Strategic Development Symposium on Ecolinguistics in China. School of Foreign Languages, Yili Normal University, Yili, 28-30 September 2024.

Abstract
Inspired by Arran Stibbe’s (2024) proposal of ecolinguistics for ethical leadership, this study conducts a corpus-assisted discourse analysis of the discursive constructions of ethical business leadership on China’s social media. It uses public mourning discourse over the deceased business leader Zong Qinghou on Weibo as a case study and combines ecological discourse analysis with text mining to closely examine the specific ways ethical business leadership is constructed in contemporary China. It is expected that this study will generate illuminating insights into the potential application of ecolinguistics to business discourse analysis.
