Investigating Changes and Causes in Pre-Service Teachers' Feedback on Students' Compositions with ChatGPT Assistance: A Short-Term Teaching Experiment. Language Teacher Development Through the Lens of Quality Education: Standards and Evaluation. Abstract
With the advancement of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), the educational domain is actively investigating the utilization of tools such as ChatGPT to optimize assessment efficacy. There exists a substantial impetus to comprehend its practical implications. This study scrutinizes the potential impact of short-term training interventions on the utilization of ChatGPT by pre-service educators for furnishing feedback on essays, with a focus on enhancing the quality of feedback provision. Employing a blend of research methodologies encompassing short-term pedagogical experiments and qualitative interviews, this research delves into the following inquiries:

(1) changes in feedback levels and their underlying reasons, (2) changes in feedback types and their underlying reasons, and (3) changes in feedback quality and their underlying reasons. In addition, the research briefly discusses how these findings can be applied in practice.
