RECENT FOCUS
The new FH logo is derived from the Chinese characters “人文” (humanities) and reinforces the Faculty’s core values and mission. The new logo features a person at the centre, depicted in a walking motion, symbolising our constant stride towards excellence, and our unwavering commitment to moving forward in both research and education. This logo encapsulates our vision of continuous growth, progress, and innovation and we look forward to continuing our journey of learning and discovery together.
Following the establishment of the Research Centre for Chinese History and Culture last year, the University will organise the PolyU Chinese Culture Festival to further facilitate the promotion of Chinese history and cultural education on campus as well as in Hong Kong.
The Festival is set to launch a series of events from March 2024, covering different art forms and themes such as embroidery, Chinese music, and recitation of Chinese classics. A diverse group of scholars, experts, and artists have been invited to showcase the value of Chinese culture through exhibitions, lectures, and workshops. Click HERE to read more.
Join the FH Massive Open Online Course (MOOC): Humanities in Focus to explore What is Humanities, Why Humanities Matter but more importantly, Why Humanities Matters to You!
The questioning, humanising and connecting approach of humanities education trains all of us to think critically and creatively. In the context of humanities, thinking critically and creatively means to reflect on our personal values and experiences, and challenge what we think we know, and explore how other people may see or experience the world differently from us.
Start your journey of thinking critically and creatively by joining the course that is made possible by the hard work and dedication of the FH MOOC team and faculty members contributing to the lectures:
