Abstract
After the Colonial establishment of Hong Kong in 1841, many poets and scholars stayed and lived here, but critical studies of Classical Chinese Literature in Hong Kong in the strict sense did not emerge until the 1950s. CHAN Kwok Kou, Kwong Kin Hang and Ng Shuk Tin who were the first to introduce the state of classical literary studies in Hong Kong and preserved essays in Hong Kong. In particular, the digitization of essays and the introduction of essay databases in recent years have facilitated the preservation and dissemination of academic research results, while on the other hand, those research results that are buried in paper and not digitized are easily overlooked. This article intends to introduce the previous scholars and take Wang Guowei's Renjian Cihua as a starting point, in order to, on the one hand, review the research and discussion of this important monograph in Hong Kong, and on the other hand, point out the characteristics of the research in Hong Kong, with a view to laying a foundation for future research on classical lexicography in Hong Kong.
