Abstract
We are in the midst of a time to transform education with the help of GenAI. This talk presents the paradigm shift of higher education in the GenAI era, with a focus on enhancing the quality of learning and teaching with GenAI. It includes three scenarios of learning with GenAI and crossed institution collaboration on several projects that implement GenAI. In view of the advancement of GenAI, it discusses four directions for assessment redesign that are aligned with two major guiding principles. By benchmarking how technological advance is changing the labour market and preferred skill sets, the Educational Development Centre conducted sharing sessions on assessment redesign and collected samples of new assessments for further analysis. The practice highlights six observations that reflect teacher dilemmas, student GenAI-related competency and further improvement on instructions, assessment and rubric design.
