Discussion about IB Exam “Time Zone Cheating” Incident in a Radio Interview

On 9 May 2024, Dr Max Diaz from the Department of English and Communication was interviewed on RTHK Radio 3’s Backchat, as part of a segment titled IB exam “time zone cheating” incident. During the talk, Dr Diaz and two other educational experts from Hong Kong discussed the impact of modern technological advances on student assessments and cheating during standardised examinations. Dr Diaz made a case for reassessing the common understanding of “assessment” in the face of technological developments, both new and old.
