German Speaking Day
Events
Prof. Eric Friginal, Head of ENGL (third from right), and Dr Renia Lopez, Assistant Dean of FH (fourth from right), welcome industry and consulate representatives to the event.
The Minor in European Studies programme in the Department of English and Communication organised the German-Speaking Day to promote German culture to the PolyU community. The event began with a presentation by Mrs Stefanie Seedig, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, for a comprehensive overview of Germany, including its cultural, social, and business aspects. A roundtable discussion with industry representatives from Austria, Switzerland and Germany as well as PolyU academics followed this. Subsequently, various activities were available, including food-tasting, handcraft workshops, and 3D chocolate printing. The speaking-dating table was popular, allowing students to practice German. Booths from the German, Swiss, and Austrian consulates and chambers of commerce were also present to provide valuable information to the students. Approximately 200 people participated in the event and enjoyed the diverse activities offered.
Participants enjoy various activities offered at the booths.
