1. Research Student Handbook
The Research Student Handbook provides all sorts of important information to current students including but not limited to details of the research degree programmes, access to information, subject registration, coursework assessment, thesis examination, financial matters and various applications, etc. Students are strongly advised to study the handbook carefully.2. 5. Resources and Support
5.1 Research and Publishing
The library provides guides and tutorial to support research students. The subject guides help students to locate various resources for research. Students are welcome to join the library workshops and make use of the research consultation service to facilitate their study.
Students are highly encouraged to publish research findings during their studies at PolyU. The Researchers@Library provides a quick guide for journal selection and there is also advice from publishers and editors. The library also gives tips on raising research visibility and share good practices for research data management.
5.2 Academic Writing and Presentation
The English Language Centre provides information on writing and presentation for students. The Department of English and Communication also offers a course in research writing: ENGL6005 Writing Research Articles.
5.3 Academic Integrity and Plagiarism

5.4 Mental Wellness and Counselling Service
PolyU Counsellors assist students to strengthen coping skills in dealing with psychological distress such as anxiety, depressed mood and sleeping problem. They listen to student’s concerns, show understanding, provide support and explore ways for achieving changes. The Counsellors have an obligation to respect the confidentiality of information obtained from students.
