Prof. Zhang Xuming, Associate Head & Professor of the Department of Applied Physics, has developed a biomimetic artificial compound eye (ACE) as a panoramic camera. This camera enjoys 180 degrees field of view, making it particularly well-suited for applications in areas such as surveillance.
