My undergraduate studies at PolyU have taken me on an intellectual journey. The Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology (ABCT) provides us with valuable opportunities to discover our research interests. For instance, we can join the Undergraduate Research and Innovation Scheme and the Sponsorship for Internship Enhancement Programme (SIEP) to develop hands-on skills and practical laboratory techniques. ABCT also offers us the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a different culture and academic environment in overseas institutions. While participating in the Cambridge Online Summer Research Programme, I studied trends in Gentoo penguin breeding populations and their correlation with sea ice conditions. During my semester exchange at the Nanyang Technological University, I learnt about neurodegenerative diseases, molecular dynamics simulations and quantum chemistry; experiences that enriched my academic background and empowered me to pursue further studies.

理大的本科學習是一趟認識自我、探索世界的旅程。應用生物及化學科技學系為我們提供了許多發掘研究興趣的機會。我們可以參加校内的本科生科研計劃和實習資助計劃，學習各種實用技能和實驗室工作技巧。學系還設立了不少海外交流機會，讓我們體驗各國文化和學習氛圍。在劍橋大學的暑期線上研究計劃中，我分析了巴布亞企鵝的繁殖數量趨勢與海冰容量的關係。在新加坡南洋理工大學的交換學習期間，我認識到神經退化性疾病、分子動力學模擬、量子化學等内容，大大擴闊了學術視野，打穩了繼續進修的基礎。
