Research Symposium

The Faculty of Science (FS) Symposium, entitled “Chemistry for a Sustainable Future: Innovation and Challenges”, was held on the 10 &11 of November 2023. The event brought together experts and scholars from various chemistry disciplines who presented their research and were engaged in intellectual discussions.

The symposium featured 16 prominent speakers from renowned institutions, including Imperial College London, Loughborough University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory. The speakers covered a wide range of topics, such as advancements in nanoelectronics, solar cells, rare earth luminescent nanomaterials, metal-azolate frameworks, and nanostructured functional materials. The program also explored how chemistry can contribute to the improvement of society, including the promotion of fair competitions in equestrian sports through the application of racing chemistry.

Overall, the symposium was a resounding success, as it brought together experts from different institutions, showcased cutting-edge research and promoted developments in the field. Attendees left feeling inspired to tackle the challenges and opportunities for a more sustainable future.

理學院研討會

理學院研討會已於2023年11月10日至11日成功舉行。本屆以「化學為可持續未來：創新與挑戰」為主題，集合了來自各個不同化學學科領域的專家學者，以展示他們的研究成果並進行學術交流。

此次研討會特別邀請了來自多間著名大學和機構，包括倫敦帝國學院、拉夫堡大學、復旦大學、中山大學、香港大學、香港中文大學和香港賽馬會賽事實驗室等的16位講者進行演講。當中涵蓋的內容包括如納米電子學、太陽能電池、稀土發光納米材料、金屬氮酯骨架和納米結構功能材料等多個主題的發展進程。另外，研討會亦討論了如何透過運用競賽化學來提高馬術運動賽事的公正性，繼而為社會發展作出貢獻。

此次研討會取得了巨大的成功，不同大學和機構的專家匯聚一堂，以展示最新的研究成果，並促進了不同領域的發展和進步。此外，參與者在應對挑戰和機遇方面亦獲益良多，為實現更加可持續發展的未來而一同努力。
