Student sharing: RAHIMOV Ismatullo

Student name: RAHIMOV Ismatullo
Country/Region: Tajikistan
Programme: BA (Hons) in English Studies for the Professions
What should you consider when you apply to a university?
I would consider the university’s ranking, the cost of attendance, the facilities and opportunities provided by the university, the percentage of international students and faculty and the teacher-student ratio.
How do you find the programme/academic/environment here?
My favourite part of my programme is how much freedom I have to select courses and build a degree that caters to my interests and career needs. I like that PolyU has tried to make the student community international. The scholarship opportunities, the exchange opportunities, the assistance with finding internships and everything else is beneficial.
What is the best part of studying in Hong Kong?
Hong Kong is unique. For me, the best part of studying in Hong Kong is the quality of education. I am also fascinated by the richness of Asian culture. I have taken courses on Hong Kong, mainland China and East Asian cultures, societies, histories, politics and legal systems. I would not have learnt these subjects with such authentic detail anywhere else.
