Unlike traditional Chinese and English programmes focusing on literature, the Faculty’s curriculum aims to equip students with language knowledge and application skills that address real-life language issues. The Chinese History and Culture programme also helps students acquire knowledge of Chinese history and culture that they can apply in pursuing their careers and making contributions to society. The Faculty has nurtured many outstanding graduates who excel in various professional fields, such as bilingual corporate communication, translation, interpretation, speech therapy, language teaching, media, business, management and administration, marketing, customer service, public relations, financial institutions, tourism and more.

In addition to major courses, the Faculty also offers elective/minor subjects, such as French, German, Spanish, Korean, and Japanese, to cultivate students’ multilingual abilities. Both the University and the Faculty provide scholarships and funding for undergraduates to enable them to have overseas learning experiences and gain international perspectives, such as via student exchange programmes, overseas internships, international competitions, and academic research. The Faculty has also advanced language laboratories and real-time translation laboratories that students can use.
Furthermore, the Faculty offers five undergraduate programmes, and some students majoring in these programmes can also enrol in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis as a Secondary Major. The curriculum includes professional subjects related to information technology and big data analysis to enhance students’ data-analysis skills, thereby enhancing their employability.
