PolyU celebrates the establishment of the Ko Jan Ming Endowed Professorship in Sustainable Structures and Materials

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) held an appreciation luncheon at Hotel ICON on 1 February 2016 to express its gratitude to the Vantage Charity Foundation Limited for establishing an endowed professorship in sustainable structures and materials. The appointee of the professorship is Professor Teng Jin-guang, Chair Professor of Structural Engineering of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development of PolyU.

Ko Jan Ming Endowed Professorship in Sustainable Structures and Materials is the 15th endowed professorship established by PolyU since the launch of the Endowed Professorship Scheme in 2012. Marking the first endowed professorship set up at the Faculty of Construction and Environment, this professorship is a great encouragement to the staff and student of the Faculty, driving them to strive for excellence in education and research in the area of sustainable structures and materials.

Yip Kwok Him, Independent Non-executive Director of the Vantage International (Holdings) Limited, Professor Teng Jin-guang, Ko Jan Ming Endowed Professor in Sustainable Structures and Materials and Ir Professor Xu You-lin, Dean of the Faculty of Construction and Environment.

The Endowed Professorship Scheme is an initiative of PolyU to honour distinguished scholars for their outstanding academic and research achievements.
