PolyU held an appreciation reception at the Innovation Think Tank of Jockey Club Innovation Tower on 18 April 2016 to thank donors who set up scholarships and bursaries for students in the academic year 2015/16. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to the donors who had made continued contributions for over two decades. In 2015/16, the University received HK$45 million from around 300 private firms, charitable organizations, professional bodies and individuals for awarding scholarships to high achievers, providing financial assistance to financially needy students, and supporting student activities, benefiting about 2,500 students.
While extending his heartfelt gratitude to the donors, President Prof. Timothy W. Tong said that both the donors and the University shared the same expectation of our students that they would become successful professionals and responsible global citizens, and make contribution to society and the world.
