The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has recently received a donation of HK$3 million from the Tin Ka Ping Foundation to support the University's efforts in promoting leadership education and nurturing young leaders with social responsibility and a global vision through the Global Youth Leadership Programme.

Led by its Board Chairman Mr Sam Tin Hing Sin, a delegation from the Tin Ka Ping Foundation comprising its Board Vice Chairman Mr Tai Hay Lap, Directors Mr Tin Wing Sin, Professor Kenneth Young and Mr Peter Leung, as well as its Advisory Board Chairman Professor Cheng Yin Cheong and member Mr Oscar Lau, visited PolyU and had an exchange with President Professor Timothy W. Tong and other senior management members on 19 March.

Professor Tong expressed his sincere gratitude to Dr Tin Ka Ping and the Foundation for their long-standing support and generous donations to the University's various education and research projects. He said, "Dr Tin is a keen supporter of education and has spared no effort to promote education in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. The generous gift of the Foundation to nine local universities in celebration of Dr Tin's 100th birthday is of great significance to education."
