Efforts in driving campus sustainability recognized

PolyU has recently been awarded the Certificate of Merit in the Public Services Sector of the 2016 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE), and is again recognized as a ‘Hong Kong Green Organisation’ (HKGO). It is the fourth year in a row that PolyU has been awarded in HKAEE.

PolyU has been highly commended for its commitment in building a sustainable environment for all. The University successfully raises its stakeholders’ awareness on energy conservation, the effective use of resources and environmental protection through various teaching, research, educational and promotional activities. A new policy on paper reduction has also been endorsed recently to further enhance the awareness towards a responsible use of paper.

The Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) is an annual award which aims to encourage organizations to implement environmental management, to measure organizations’ performance on their commitment to environmental management, and to recognize organizations with excellent performance on environmental management.
