Paper is a precious resource but not a disposable commodity. With the aim to preserve this resource, the University launched the campus-wide PaperReduction@PolyU campaign in 2017 with a goal of achieving an overall 10% reduction on the university-basis at the end of the financial year 2017/18, focusing on office-use printing paper. Departments and offices have recently submitted their reports to the University on their paper reduction actions and initiatives that contribute towards the paper reduction target. Results are encouraging and it proves that some very good best practices on saving paper have been shared and adopted across the entire campus.
There is still much we can do to reduce paper consumption and cut down paper waste by further adopting a more responsible and efficient use of paper in the coming future. You can find recommendations on paper reduction best practices and detailed information about the campaign from our dedicated website at https://www.polyu.edu.hk/greencampus/paperreduction/.
