Student-initiated project collects recycled clothes for poor families

A group of PolyU students and their peers in the International University of Central Asia (IUCA) have worked together to develop the LIGHT (Let’s Ignite Kyrgyzstan with Hope Together) Project to arouse attention about the social conditions in Kyrgyzstan. LIGHT includes an awareness campaign on campus, capacity building program, English and leadership training of students in Kyrgyzstan. Among the activities, these students set up the ‘Used Clothes Recycling Scheme’ on the podium level of R Core podium from January to April 2018. Clothes collected would be distributed to people in need in Kyrgyzstan after sorting and cleaning.
