A group of APSS students was determined to spread the word on the adverse impacts of plastic and promote plastic recycling. With support from their teachers, they spent time planning and eventually set up a recycling station in the center of the campus over a few weeks in March 2019. They were there to have dialogues with students and staff passing by about how to better recycle plastics.
They aimed to arouse awareness from the campus community on differentiating the various types of plastics and collect views about recycling plastics. They also shared tips on clean recycling and how it contributes to the recycling process. This student-initiated project demonstrates how the younger generation is willing to act and respond to the challenges of plastic pollution, and they are eager to call for more support from the community.
