The University’s new green initiative – GreenCoin – with attractive incentives for students and staff who embrace a green lifestyle is now available! Living and dining green in ways such as practicing bring-your-own (BYO), supporting plastic bottle recycling and taking part in selected sustainability activities on campus will enable you to accumulate Coins, which can be redeemed for gifts and e-coupons at facilities on campus!

This dedicated GreenCoin app that runs on mobile phones will provide with you with the pleasant experience in earning and accumulating Coins, and to use your redeemed e-coupons on campus in a convenient and paperless way!

• this GreenCoin app is available to handheld mobile phones running Apple iOS® 10 and above or Android™ 7.0 and above
• by using the app, the users agree to the Terms and Conditions of this app
• scan the QR code on the receipt obtained from the Communal Student Canteen via the GreenCoin app to earn Coins on the same day. 1 QR code on the receipt will mean 1 Coin to be earned
• scan the QR code shown on the display monitor of the Reverse Vending Machine via the GreenCoin app to earn Coins. The number of Coins earned depends on the number of plastic bottles being successfully scanned and taken by the Reverse Vending Machine
• the Coins earned during any given day will be reflected in no more than 24 hours
• Coin balance is shown on the users’ device (mobile phone)
• Coins will be deducted when users decide to convert Coins into available e-coupons
• re-launch or restart the app to reflect updated Coins record and e-coupons
• Unspent Coins will reset to zero on 31 December 2021, and on every 30 June and 31 December from 2022 onwards
• We reserve the right to make the final decision in the event of any dispute
