List of Academic Integrity and Ethics (AIE) subjects

Note: The AIE subjects will be offered starting from Semester One of 2024/25. The list of subjects is subject to review and change.

AIE subject registration

A student should indicate his/her selected AIE subject in Form GSB/26 for Chief Supervisor’s approval before subject registration. Students can register/drop the AIE subject via the Subject Registration Function at eStudent. Whether an RPg student can register for an AIE subject will depend on the availability of vacancies.

Report on AIE progress

Students are required to pass an AIE subject within their first year of study and report the AIE completion status in their first annual progress monitoring exercise. Students of Dual PhD Degree programmes should complete the AIE subject within their first year of study at PolyU.

If students fail to pass the AIE subject within their first year of study, they should provide justifications in the annual progress monitoring exercise for consideration of their Chief Supervisors and the respective D/SRC. Under justified circumstances, such as certified health problems, the D/SRC may grant a one-time extension of up to one semester for AIE completion. The approval should be recorded in the progress report.
