Eka is an assistant professor in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Eka teaches several subjects including human resource management and research methods for the master's program and hospitality and tourism financial management classes both for the master's program and bachelors program. Additionally, he supervises two doctoral students and several undergraduate students under the honors thesis program.

Eka Diraksa Putra is a graduate of Universitas Indonesia (UI) with a Bachelor degree in Financial Management. He has an MBA degree from Columbia College and PhD degree from University of Missouri - Columbia, both in the USA. Eka’s research interests lie in the field of human resource management and organizational behavior in hospitality business settings. He is a Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and hold a Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA) awarded by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
