Philip Yu is the Regional Vice President – Operations, Greater China, overseeing the operations of 60+ Hyatt Hotels in Greater China.

Philip first joined Hyatt in 2007 as the Hotel Manager for Grand Hyatt Shanghai where he worked for three years. In 2010 he was selected as the General Manager for Hyatt Regency Hangzhou and moved to Grand Hyatt Hong Kong where he has remained in his current role as General Manager since 2013.

Prior to joining Hyatt, Philip has held key positions in managing the Clubhouse of The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Philip started his career as a Food and Beverage trainee 30 years ago and has held various Food and Berverage management positions with different companies. Philip graduated from SITC Hotel Management School in Switzerland and has worked in countries like Canada, Italy, Greater China and Switzerland.

At his spare time, Philip likes to explore different culture and cuisines through his frequent travels in the mainland China. Hiking and swimming are his favorite sports. As a fan of Star Wars, Adidas, and Coca Cola, Philip starts to collect Star War figures and antique watches in recent years.
