PolyU President Professor Timothy Tong and Professor Kaye Chon, Chair Professor and Director of the SHTM, welcomed the guests with opening addresses.

During the dinner, eleven final-year students from both the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes spoke about their international exchange and industry placement experiences and postgraduate study at the SHTM. The common theme of these talks was their appreciation of the opportunity to work in and with industry, which has helped them to stay ahead in today's fast-paced and competitive environment. The most important element of their student experience, they said, was the development of international and intercultural understanding. These students will take this appreciation for and collaboration with different cultures into the workplace and, ultimately, into the world – and it was made possible by the generous support of our industry partners. For this, the SHTM is most grateful.
