Over the past few months, Prof HU Xiangen, DoIHERD, engaged with various stakeholders of higher education to discuss the applications of advanced educational technology.
Earlier this year on 13-14 January, Prof HU was invited to discuss with International Bureau of Education (IBE) of UNESCO in Geneva on their Mother Tongue Education project. He was also invited to host a workshop on AI for Curriculum Development and Learning with the title “Generative AI in Education: From Foundational Insights to the Socratic Playground for Learning” to share his expertise in the area.
Last year on 27 October, Prof HU spoke at Generative AI Empowering Teachers’ New Quality Enhancement Summit [translated] with the title “Generative AI for the Common Good: A Framework for Enhancing Academic Equity and Mobility” in Guangzhou. He then delivered a talk four days later with the title “LLMs and Future Education: Opportunities and Challenges” in Chengdu.
While attending the 2024 Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Psychological Society’s Network Psychology Professional Committee and the 11th Frontier Symposium on Psychology and Behavior Research in the Age of Internet [translated] in Chengdu, Prof HU enlightened the audience with his keynote speech on “Harnessing AI for Dynamic Learning: From Assessment to Personalised Tutoring” on 2 November 2024. Prof HU then headed north to Beijing to engage in a Dialogue on Horizon Speakers and to give a keynote speech on “The Development and Evolution of Intelligent Tutoring Systems: From Historical Perspectives to Practical Applications” within AI in Education (AIED) Forum on 3 November 2024.
Prof HU travelled to Macau to deliver a keynote speech titled “Harnessing AI for Dynamic Learning: From Assessment to Personalized Tutoring” on 10 November 2024 within 13th International Conference of Educational Innovation through Technology (EITT2024).
On 10 December 2024, Prof HU attended the 7th International Conference on Education Evaluation and Monitoring (ICEEM 2024) in Beijing and delivered a keynote speech on “Generative AI for Model-Free Assessment and Monitoring”. He stayed in Beijing to give a talk on “Leveraging LLM for LaaS” on 12 December 2024.
A week later on 19 December 2024, Prof HU gave a keynote speech on “Exploring AI-Driven Education: Bridging Assessment and Personalized Learning” during his attendance of Symposium on Examination Policy and Computerized Testing [translated] in Taiwan. On the following day, Prof HU attended 2024 Annual Meeting of Chinese Association of Psychological Testing [translated], where he delivered a keynote speech on “Exploring Generative AI for Model-Free Assessment and Learning Monitoring”.
