The 3rd Assembly of IHERD Fellows was successfully held on 6 December 2024. The event brought nearly 20 IHERD Fellows together who listened attentively to the sharing by three Fellows.
Prof Dori DAVARI, Associate IHERD Fellow, gave a passionate sharing on how a focus of soft skills essential to improving employability with the support of industry sponsors could spark students’ interest in learning. Prof DAVARI’s sharing was followed by the sharing by Prof Eric FRIGINAL, IHERD Fellow, who inspired the Assembly on the potential role of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in debate. As the anchor leg, Dr Julia CHEN, Senior IHERD Fellow, enlightened the attendees of the University’s stance on flipped learning.
The excited discussions between the presenting Fellows and the participating Fellows after each of the sharing evidenced the passion of the Fellows in improving teaching and learning together. Prof HU Xiangen, DoIHERD, ended the event with an encouraging remark.
It is the hope of IHERD that more colleagues of the University would be interested in joining forces in the continuous improvement of teaching and learning by contributing as a member of IHERD Fellows.
