The 2nd Assembly of IHERD Fellows was successfully held on 5 July 2024. With the honourable presence of Prof WONG Kwok-yin, Vice President (Education) of PolyU, the event brought nearly 20 IHERD Fellows together who actively engaged in sharing their ideas in small groups on how the IHERD Fellow community as a whole could facilitate the advancement of teaching and learning. The Fellows were encouraged to continue the passionate discussion beyond the Assembly.
The Assembly also listened attentively to the sharing by three selected Fellows. The speeches, while brief, was intriguing, and attending Fellows were eager for details not shown during the presentations.
Attending Fellows were excited by the funding opportunities from IHERD that could support their travelling expenses and/or research initiatives. Prof HU Xiangen, Director of the Institute for Higher Education Research and Development (IHERD), encouraged IHERD Fellows to actively utilize such funds to enhance the visibility of the University, and to engage in pedagogical research in higher education.
It is the hope of IHERD that more colleagues of the University would be interested in joining forces in the continuous improvement of teaching and learning by contributing as a member of IHERD Fellows.
