While theories and knowledge gained in lectures are important, the ability to apply them when faced with real-life situations is more essential when students head out to the workplace. Faculties of various units in the University have sought ways to integrate theories with application, and Dr Dori DAVARI, Associate IHERD Fellow and Assistant Professor of School of Hotel and Tourism Management, is no exception.
With the help of Mr Hoss VETRY, Vice President of Operations, APAC, Dr DAVARI was able to secure Rosewood Hotel Group as an industrial sponsor for her class (HTM544 Strategic Management for Travel and Tourism Businesses). In the past academic year, students of her class worked on projects for the industrial sponsor, and be provided with valuable feedback within class.
Rosewood Hotel Group was also generous in sending members of the senior management team to the class to share actual strategic initiatives with the students on-the-spot. Students of the class greatly appreciated the valuable opportunity to learn first-hand from industrial leaders.
Rosewood Hotel Group is very kind to have agreed to continue the sponsorship for the same class in the upcoming academic years.
