Organized by the Xian Jiaotong University-PolyU Knowledge Management &Innovation Research Centre and the Guangdong Industrial Design City, the Forum on “Innovation, Design and Knowledge Management (KM) in Manufacturing” (广东省专业镇创新设计与知识管理论坛) was held at Shunde on 19th May 2011. Prof. WB Lee, two Academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, scholars and practitioners from the industry gathered at the event to share their views on the potentials of KM in manufacturing innovation in helping to maintain and sharpen the competitive edge of industries in Guangdong area. Supported by The Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the day-long event was well received by over 150 participants coming from government departments and manufacturing firms in Guangzhou. It made a sensible way forward to the future KM development in Guangdong industries.
