KMRC hosts the First Knowledge Management Forum for the Education Sector
The Knowledge Management Research Centre (KMRC) of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, with the support from Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council, The Hong Kong Primary Education Research Association and the Centre for IT in Education of The University of Hong Kong, has for the first time organized the Forum on Knowledge Management (KM) in Education on 5 July. At the Forum entitled “Applying Knowledge Management in Education Sector”, participants got the chance to learn from the keynote speakers about the challenges and practices of KM implementation in school and the cloud-based personal learning environment & network for social learning. The panel discussion on ‘Knowledge Management Practices in Education’ also enabled the participants to learn the valuable experience on the KM journey of some local schools and to exchange ideas with the speakers on new insights for future KM direction. The Forum has attracted a number of education practitioners who enjoyed a fruitful afternoon. At the end, KMRC also announced the formation of the ‘KM in Education community’ to further assist the education sector to move forward for the KM implementation at schools.
