KY TAN

Mr. Tan is a lawyer by training with over 20 years of general management and corporate experience in the medical device industry. He is currently the Business Development Director of Brainlab AG, a German’s advanced medical technology company, responsible for medical technology collaboration and investment in Asia Pacific. He was formerly the regional Managing Director of Hong Kong and Taiwan for IDS Medical Systems Group, the healthcare arm of the Fung’s Group and the General Manager of Haemonetics, a NYSE listed company in blood management solution, responsible for Australia, Korea, South Asia and Southeast Asia. Prior to that, in his first stint of service with Brainlab, he was the Operation Director for Asia Pacific and Country Director of China.

He is qualified as a Barrister At Laws of the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, having graduated with a LL.B degree from the University of London. He was subsequently admitted as a lawyer in his native country, Malaysia. He has authored Chinese Intellectual Property Law published by Lexis Nexis and is also a speaker on intellectual property strategy and innovation related topics. He is also a member of Industry Advisory Board of the Greater Bay Area MedTech Association.
