Alcarbo Technology Limited
Alcarbo Technology Limited is a biotechnology corporation developing a revolutionary algae photobioreactor system (PBRs) to absorb and fix carbon dioxide (CO2), the most abundant and prime greenhouse gas in our atmosphere. Our innovative technology utilizes algae photosynthesis, providing an alternative solution to convert CO2 into profit. Microalgae are efficient carbon-fixing organisms that can capture 400 times more than that of trees. The culture of these micro-organisms can easily be scaled-up to offset carbon emissions and release oxygen through photosynthesis significantly. This strategy is a permanent and quantifiable carbon fixing solution. Furthermore, an additional benefit of the proposed system is the by-product produced, such as the lipid and cellulose, which can be sold as raw materials for cosmetics, food supplements, and biofuel. The further broad applications of the by-products will create a sustainable green business for Hong Kong. Our reactor has the advantages of being space-saving, cost-effective, and more sustainable than other existing solutions in the market. This project will be a solution for Hong Kong to meet the target of the Paris Agreement and achieve carbon neutrality before 2050.
