This virtual reality-based rehabilitation system, using retail work
at a boutique as the training scenario, provides vocational training
for people with cognitive disabilities. This computer application for
cognitive training is based on 3D visual reality technology. Participants
will assume the role of a salesperson to carry out real-life tasks which
focus on enhancing their attention, memory, executive functions and
problem solving abilities. Research findings indicated that this kind
of training can effectively improve users’ cognitive functions. This
allows them to apply the skills, e.g. sales and problem solving, they
acquired in training to their daily lives.
