The 26th China High-Tech Fair (CHTF) was held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an). This year, PolyU showcases a number of research projects at the fair. In addition, Prof. Chan Ching-Chuen, GBS, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Distinguished Chair Professor of Electric Vehicles cum Smart Energy and Director of the Research Centre for Electric Vehicles of PolyU, was a keynote speaker at the China Hi-Tech Forum today. Under the theme “New Quality Productivity Spurs Industry Development”, Prof. Chan delivered a talk on AI and new quality productive forces. Given his extensive academic achievements and rich practical experiences, he explored how to develop AI engines to drive the advancement of new productive forces, deeply inspiring the audience.
Meanwhile, PolyU is participating in the exhibitions at both Hong Kong Pavilion (15C-20b) and Qianhai Pavilion (15-A020) in Hall 15. The PolyU booth in the Hong Kong Pavilion showcases four innovative research outcomes, including a virtual MRI contrast enhancement system for tumour detection and treatment, a portable liver fibrosis diagnosis system, a human-robot collaborative manufacturing system, and fabric sensors. In addition, “The Hong Kong Polytechnic University-Oianhai Disruptive Technology and Innovation Research Centre”, a collaboration between PolyU and Qianhai Authority, showcased five innovative solutions from PolyU research teams and start-ups at in Qianhai Pavilion, including intelligent unmanned systems, a vision training VR device, an AI medical diagnostic system, a series of colour management technologies that enable digital displays and imaging devices, and research strategies related to quantum computing.
Some of these projects have been translated into applications and commercialised through PolyU start-ups. These start-ups aim to bring these innovations to market for the benefit of mankind, contributing to society and creating positive impact.
As an important gateway to China’s booming technology market and a key platform for the exchange and transaction of high-tech achievements, the China High-Tech Fair integrates trading opportunities, product showcases, forums, investments and collaborative exchanges. It focuses on cutting-edge technologies and products in areas such as energy conservation and environmental protection, next-generation information technology, biotechnology, high-end manufacturing, new energy, new materials, and new energy vehicles.
