Major Functions / Key Features

• Fluids flow through it continuously during analysis
• Cells or other particles suspended in a fluid pass through a flow cell and illuminated by a laser beam
• To do a lot of cell phenotypic analysis by detecting different fluorescent colours and is used for monitoring AIDS patients' immune system by determining the ratio of T4 and T8 lymphocytes in clinical laboratories
• Different cell types can be separated to study their respective properties, e.g. cancer stem cell properties
