The PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research (PAIR) Conference 2023, the first and the largest event in Hong Kong higher education dedicated to professional knowledge exchange on interdisciplinary research and development, was held successfully on 8–11 May 2023. Themed on “Research Excellence for Societal Impacts”, the four-day event drew over 100 internationally renowned scholars and experts from different disciplines as distinguished speakers to share their knowledge and insights.
The Mental Health Research Centre (MHRC) Research Symposium was successfully completed on 10 May 2023, attracting over 680 on site and online attendees coming from different countries and regions, including China, U.S.A., U.K., Turkey, Australia, United Arab Emirates, etc.
The Centre sincerely thank Prof. Eric CHEN, Chi-Li Pao Foundation Professor in Psychiatry, Chair Professor, Clinical Professor, and Director of the Psychosis Studies and Intervention Program (PSI), The University of Hong Kong, for delivering an insightful keynote speech on the topic of “Youth Mental Health in Hong Kong: Challenges and Response During the Pandemic Years and Beyond”. The Centre also thank six other speakers, including Prof. Benjamin YEE, Dr William TAI, Dr Yim Wah MAK, Dr Jessie LIN, Dr Shimin ZHU, and Dr William CHAN, for sharing their research experiences and outcomes in various aspects of mental health.
The Symposium featured presentation of 14 posters that showcased the latest development in a range of topics in mental health research.
The Symposium received positive feedback from the audience, with 70% of the attendees being extremely satisfied and 30% being very satisfied with the content of the presentations and the overall event experience.
