Introduction
To facilitate successful adaptation to campus life and to encourage campus integration, SAO is organising the following peer support for SEN students:
Buddy Programme:
Under this Buddy Programme, “Limitless” ambassadors, a group of passionate volunteer students, could befriend with you in 2024/25 and provide you peer support. This programme targets mainly at new students.
Language Partner Programme:
To enhance campus integration and to improve English proficiency of students with special educational needs (SEN), SAO is going to arrange Language Partner Programme. Students are welcome to apply for practising oral English with peers while enriching social circle in Semester One 2024/25. This programme targets mainly at new students
Peer Mentor Programme:
APSS students studying master programme “Applied Psychology (Diverse Learning Needs)” could act as Peer Mentor in 2024/25 to facilitate SEN students the following:
- Self-understanding enhancement
- Devising of personal development plan for achieving short-term goals
- Giving peer advice on career preparation/ development
This programme targets at new and current students in undergraduate programmes.
Please apply at earliest convenience and preferably by 5 September 2024. For Buddy Progamme and Language Partner Programme, SAO would do matching and announce the matching result, if any, by end September 2024. For Peer Mentor Programme, the matching result, if any, would be announced in around mid-October. First-come-first-served!
