In an interview with 《MingPao Daily》, Prof. Christopher Chao, Vice President (Research and Innovation) and PReCIT Director of PolyU, said that data analysis is very important for academic research and suggested policymakers to open mainland data to designated institutions in Hong Kong for research purposes. He urged the governments of Hong Kong and the Mainland to keep an open mind when negotiating the data interchange.
