Students of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) won the HKAES 2023-24 University Pitch Competition on Global Grand Challenges co-organised by PReCIT and Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences (HKAES). The project of the winning team of six entitled "EcoFlight: Enhancing Aircraft Ground Operations for Reduced Carbon Emissions" is about an innovative AI solution that reduces carbon emissions from aircraft ground operations.

In addition, PReCIT visited the Digital Economy Summit on the same day. PolyU is the sole research partner of the summit with a booth to showcase the university's innovative technologies in fintech, blockchain, green finance, and pension finance that drive potential collaboration.
The 3rd Nanjing University “Lixing Cup” Global Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Hong Kong and Macao Division) was held on the PolyU campus on the subsequent day. Prof. Lu Haitian, Hong Kong Sustaintech Foundation Professor in Accounting and Finance & PReCIT Core Member, joined Central and Hong Kong government officials and other guests to witness the competition.
