Prof. Christopher CHAO, Vice President (Research and Innovation) and PReCIT Director of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) shared his views on how Hong Kong and Beijing, the two frontier bases of innovation in the country, could complement each other and create synergy in innovation and technology development in the 2024 ZGC Forum Annual Conference.
He said that PolyU aims to support mainland cities in upgrading their industrial chains by empowering production via innovation and technology. The university is committed to research commercialisation in Mainland China, and the technology could be further promoted overseas via Hong Kong, leveraging the city's international advantages.
He also told Southern Metropolis Daily how the China Science Fiction Convention 2024 could inspire the young generation and unleash their creativity, which in turn could give impetus to the country’s scientific research industry.
