Biography
Dr. Yang received his PhD degree in Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics from Wuhan University, China, in 2019. From 2019 to 2023, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Applied Physical Science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Then, Dr. Yang joined The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Yang has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers, including several high-impact papers in prestigious journals such as Science, Nature, Nature Photonics, Nature Energy, and Nature Sustainability, etc. As of August 2024, Dr. Yang’s H-index is 44 with over 8800 citations (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=OnfZfzsAAAAJ&hl=zh-CN). His current work focuses on the optoelectronic characteristics of perovskite materials and their applications in optoelectronics, such as high throughput fabrication of perovskite modules and perovskite-based tandem devices as well as device physics.
Our specific research topics are listed below:
1. Perovskite-based tandem solar cells (Perovskite-Silicon, All-Perovskite, Perovskite-OPV)
2. High-throughput scalable manufacturing of perovskite modules and tandem modules
3. Device physics in optoelectronic devices and their characterizations
4. Photovoltaic applications: Floating solar desalination and Solar hydrogen generation
