Biography
Prof. Liu has been working in the academic field for over two decades and is a highly successful researcher. One of her notable research programs involves using gerontechnology—such as virtual reality, wearable sensors, e-health, and AI technology—to implement exercise, nutritional advice, and psycho-behavioral interventions. This program aims to manage fatigue, sarcopenia, low physical activity levels, falls, and low social participation among older people with frailty.
In addition to her research, Prof. Liu is a highly innovative nurse educator. Her award-winning contributions to learning technology have revolutionized nurse education pedagogy. This is exemplified by her work using virtual reality in nurse education and the development of virtual hospitals. Her innovative approaches have been highly influential and well-received by the international nursing community.
Prof. Liu is a well-established scientist, recognized as one of the top 2% cited scientists in her field. She has been successful in commercializing her work and has been honored with several regional and international awards, including the prestigious Asia Gold award in the QS Reimagine Education Regional Awards, induction into the Sigma Researcher Hall of Fame, and multiple ITC awards.
