About Research Centre for Grid Modernisation (RCGM)

The Research Centre for Grid Modernisation (RCGM) at PolyU serves as an international research platform dedicated to providing impactful, multidisciplinary research and development of secure, sustainable, and affordable power and energy systems. Taking advantage of Hong Kong's unique position as an international hub, RCGM connects with the power and industrial sectors across mainland China and around the world to foster collaboration and exchange.

We aim to create an international platform for grid modernization, collaborating with academia, industry and governments globally. Our mission is to develop secure, sustainable and affordable energy systems through multidisciplinary R&D. We also facilitate deployment of advanced electric grid and sustainable energy technologies, to power future smart and carbon-neutral zones in the Greater Bay Area.
