International Conference on Intelligent Wearable Systems (ICIWS 2022) was a three-day conference organized by the Research Institute for Intelligent Wearable Systems (RI-IWEAR) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), which took place on Jun 27-29, 2022. The conference was dedicated to fundamental research and applications on flexible materials, sensors, energy devices, integration of wearable electronic systems and their applications.
The study of intelligent wearable systems as an emerging interdisciplinary area in recent years is at its infancy and has been continuously challenged in many aspects like the multifunctionality, signal quality and reliability, manufacturing cost, user friendliness and biocompatibility of the systems as well as their applications. These scientific and technical issues at all levels have become increasingly critical for many communities from material science, microelectronics, energy devices to biomedical engineering in connecting and integrating the technologies into wearable systems. ICIWS is a conference that presents a forum for scientists and engineering to get together and present the recent developments in the area for technology development, device engineering, systems design and integration.
The conference hosted a broad spectrum of areas in Intelligent Wearable Systems addressing cutting-edge topics:

• SENSORS, ACTUATORS AND BIOELECTRONICS
• ENERGY HARVESTING AND STORAGE
• SYSTEM INTEGRATION AND EMERGING APPLICATIONS
The conference invited 29 experts to share their experiences in the fundamental research and applications of flexible materials, sensors, energy devices, integration of wearable electronic systems and their applications. It attracted over 1778 people registered online for the conference, from 21 countries and regions, including China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Israel, US, Canada, UK, Germany, and Spain. etc. Among the registered participants, 85 came from companies, 53 from research institutes, and the rest from universities. The conference was also broadcasted simultaneously via a number of social media, including YouTube, Bilibili, Weibo, and WeChat. According to the statistics provided by social media, for the three days of the conference, a total of over 110,000 views were registered.
