Summary
The 19th Beijing – Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium, organized by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission (BMSTC), Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Hong Kong Trade Development Council, was held on 27th – 28th November 2015 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to foster the collaboration between Hong Kong and Beijing via a series of symposiums and discussions. Under the facilitation of ITDO, Professor Alexander Wai Ping-kong, PolyU’s Vice President (Research Development) and Dr. Yan Ao-shuang, BMSTC’s General Director, signed a strategic agreement to further enhance the collaboration of resources, knowledge transfer, students’ exchange, funding and technology exchange. Vice President Alexander Wai Ping-kong expressed during his speech that he looked forward to more opportunities for the higher education institutions in Hong Kong to participate in the “One Belt One Road”, “the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development” and “Made in China 2025 Strategy”.
