Technology Exchange Workshop with the Immigration Department, HKSAR Government

ITDO facilitated an exchange workshop between PolyU researchers of Department of Computing and officials of the Immigration Department (ID) of the HKSAR Government to explore the collaborative opportunities.  A total of 10 representatives from the ID were participated in the meeting, including Chief Immigration Officer (Immigration Control System) Development Mr. Alan Hung Cheung-Siu, Principal Immigration Officer (Information Systems) Development Ms. Kerry Kwan Kwan-Lin and Principal Immigration Officer (Information Systems) Production Mr. Leung Kin Hung and their associates.
PolyU Associate Head and Professor of Department of Computing Dr. Zhang Lei introduced the achievements and strengths of the Department, Associate Professor of Department of Computing Dr. Ajay Kumar also introduced and demonstrated his “Automated Watch List Identification System” which helps to enhance the effectiveness of border security checks.  A visit to the Biometrics Research Laboratory was arranged as well.
