Summary

Danone is international company present on all continents. The group holds top positions in healthy food through four businesses: Fresh Dairy Products, Early Life Nutrition, Waters and Medical Nutrition. Mr. Yves Rey, Senior Advisor to Danone Board of Directors, was invited to share with audiences how public-private partnerships (PPPs) can help industry in leveraging diverse expertise among government, academic, and industry researchers to address food and safety-related research challenges that will ultimately benefit the public health. Through PPPs, business can share the cost with government in R&D projects and adopt government assessment mechanisms for funding support to eliminate overlapping investments with other similar projects, utilize the academia’s expertise to enhance the efficiency of R&D and stimulate additional spillovers from research.
